Mosquito Nets at Camellia's

Aaaaahh...Summer..at last..green grass..Gardening...Rain..Warm weather..
Oh No! Bugs and Mosquitoes.........

One of the most useful tools against Bugs is a Mosquito net. Most people in the Tropics sleep under one. Not to mention how romantic they look above a bed. They usually come in 2 colours ; White & Ivory. They are big enough to fit around a Queen size bed. Need one for a Twin bed? Just use the same size, it will look great. During the day, you simply twist the netting into a bundle, and it tucks neatly out of the way. Great for Camp, no more worrying about if the kids left the door open and invited in some bugs. Mosquito nets will protect you from other creepy-crawlies, like wood ticks. Hang the net from the ceiling, positioning the net in the middle of the bed. Tuck the net all around the bed ( in between the mattress and box spring ), leaving a spot for you to crawl in. Get into bed, then tuck that piece of net in as well, now you can sleep like a baby!
Our moustiquaire has a hoop of 25" around, a fringe around the hoop of 8", and a height of 98".

Price: $39.00

Call Camille to order yours today! As it is Camp season, they are going fast!

Lilacs at The Camellia

Lilacs are an old favourite in a Garden...there are many Lilac bushes around Thunder Bay. These photos were taken recently at our Family's home in Edmonton, Alberta. Here at Camellia's we have French Lilacs, which bloom considerably later than other varieties.

Love the smell of Lilacs? Treat yourself to a wonderful Fresh White Lilac shea butter Lotion. Soft and light, and smells just like a just blooming lilac blossom. Ask for the Farm house White Lilac.

Fresh white Lilac Laundry sachets - use in the dryer to scent your linens or clothing. Each sachet is good for 4 or 5 loads in the dryer.

Of course, if you are lucky enough to have a Lilac bush in your yard, pick a bunch and bring them in! Smashing their wooden stems may help the blooms to take up water easily.

We have a wonderful square tablecloth with Lilacs embroidered on it.

Fresh Lilacs are a real treat! Enjoy them while they last!

French & European Country Decor at The Camellia

Mini framed prints, found in un magasin at the bottom of Sacre-Coeur....in Paris..... we have different prints in stock at the store.

Cheery Provencal fabrics, from the markets in Provence, sold by the yard.

We carry provencal and Toile Fabrics. Here is one of the cushions we make, with a toile and an alternating check, in Waverly fabrics.

All kinds of faux stone finishes are part of this look. Details are added around Fireplaces, and also around doorways, and mirrors.

These are replicas of old advertising signs in Tin. This one would be perfect for a bathroom.

When you visit Europe, you can't help but notice the lace curtains in all the windows. We carry Heritage Lace, a high quality, washable lace, made in the U. S. Come in store to see the many patterns and colours available. Best of all, no ironing needed.

Hand-painted signs are painted here at The Camellia, so bring in your sayings, and we'll paint them for you. Please order ahead.

Painted finishes are part of the European country look. This is an old cabinet which I painted, using Hide glue as a crackling agent. Then I used a Wisteria stencil in the middle of the door panels.

Tres Chic Hooks, good for organizing everyday necessities.

Here at The Camellia, we are in love with Lavender. You will find a wide selection of Lavender bunches, lavender buds, lavender soaps, lotions, room sprays, and sachets. I still remermber the smell of Lavender when walking into the foyer of a Gite in Forcalquier, she had placed a huge vase of Lavender buds in the middle of the room, and the smell was everywhere.

Le Cigale is the symbol of the South of France, this is a wonderful Lavender Cigale soap.
............................................................................................................................................................................
Love the look , but don't know how to achieve it? Call us at (807)475-3551 to arrange for an in-home consultation, or take digital photos of your room , and come out to visit us!

Uncrating SPRING, Home & Garden Show, C.L.E.

It's blowing and cold here today, but at least the le soleil is out. Oh Spring, oh Spring, where art thou? In the meantime, I must be content with uncrating boxes of Spring blooms....

Potted primulas.

Potted Ranunculus. So Pretty!

This is an ad from The Canadian Countryman, Sept. 27, 1930. Old Farm journals provide a fascinating look into the past.

Be You, Be Loved, Valentine's Day 2011

Communication is the key in any relationship. How will you let your loved ones know that you care about them on Valentine's Day? Roses..Gerbera daisies...tulips .... carnations....

Women are always waiting for the guys to know exactly what they want on Valentine's Day, and unfortunately, most guys don't have a clue, so help them God. Women want to have the perfect date, the perfect plan, the perfect dinner.... This puts a lot of pressure on guys to plan the perfect Valentine. Of course, if you are not a mind-reader, and you guess the wrong thing, and if this happens on VALENTINE'S DAY, you are in the proverbial Doghouse, so to speak. So how about some direct communication ; no more mind reading. this is what I want... as women we don't ask for what we want... we expect them to magically know.... and invariably we are disappointed. Plan this Valentine's day TOGETHER, and see where that leads....

You can't go wrong with Flowers and Chocolates. Everyone loves to get these. At The Camellia, we deliver in Thunder Bay. Delivery charges start at $7.00. Call us early for the best selection and service.

A Lavender Spa basket is a welcome treat in the middle of Winter.
Great for quenching dried-out winter skin.

If you are working out-of-town and you can't be with your honey-bunny, how about sending a fluffy Teddy bear for them to cuddle..?
Teddy has the word LOVE embroidered on his paw....

Call Camille at (807)475-3551 to order, or toll-free within Canada at 1-877-523-7444.

Don't forget Valentine's Day is Monday Feb. 14th.

Healthy Living and the Big Carrot

The Big Carrot on Danforth. My sister just loves this store. I myself tend to like the Aromatherapy and Skincare section, whereas my sister loves the selection of natural foods.

Eco- friendly cleaning solutions.
Mrs. Meyers is one of my favourite brands.
